DVD Review: 2007 Isle of Man TT

The official 2007 Isle of Man review features a full four hours of start to finish action, on what is arguably one of the most thrilling motorcycle racing events ever. Celebrating its hundredth year, this years TT was one of the best ever, with races that saw records falling and history being made with a blistering 130 M.P.H. lap record by John McGuiness on the 37.73 mile long road course.
The DVD two disc set, the first ever released by Duke Video opens with a brief history of the TT. The DVD then follows the excitement and drama of all six races from the Isle while celebrating 100 years of racing. You’ll see Morecombe’s John McGuiness cement his legendary TT status by winning his 12th and 13th victories, making him the third most successful competitor in the events history. Watch as Manx sidecar racer Dave Molyneux also claimed that number of wins despite numerous set-backs. Australian Bruce Anstey claims yet another Superstock win while Yorkshire’s Ian Hutchinson bounced back from last year’s disqualification to grab his first TT victory.
This years DVD features more camera angles than ever before with aerial, incredible on-board and curbside footage with several new vantage points. Disc one follows the excitement and furry of the racing action while the second “extra features” disc has on-board footage of Steve Plater, Ian Armstrong, Conor Cummings and sidecar ace Nick Crowe. There is also a special feature on the unveiling of the MV Augusta F4-1000 which makes a long awaited return to the Isle. Also on the second disc is a history of the TT as well as interviews with Phillip McCallum and Carl Fogarty. There is a profile of sidecar legend Molyneux as well as a feature on the popular Purple Helmets display team.
This is a great celebration of this historic event and will be a welcome addition to your motorcycle DVD collection.
